About Dr. Nguyen

A surgeon's hands.
A clinician's heart.

Dr. Nguyen is a fellowship-trained orthopedic hand and upper extremity surgeon dedicated to restoring function, relieving pain, and helping patients return confidently to the activities that matter most.

Originally from Austin, Texas, Dr. Nguyen attended Stanford University, where she studied bioengineering and developed a strong interest in biomechanics and the function of the human body. She returned to Texas for medical school at UT Southwestern, where orthopedic surgery became a natural fit for her interests in precision, problem-solving, and patient care.

Dr. Nguyen remained at UT Southwestern for orthopedic surgery residency, completing five years of rigorous training while caring for patients at Parkland Memorial Hospital. During residency, she discovered her passion for hand surgery and its unique ability to restore not only movement, but also independence and quality of life.

She went on to complete advanced fellowship training in hand surgery at Vanderbilt University, further developing her expertise in treating conditions of the hand, wrist, and upper extremity.

Today, Dr. Nguyen provides thoughtful, highly personalized care grounded in meticulous surgical technique and careful clinical decision-making. She believes every patient deserves to feel heard, informed, and treated with the same consideration she would want for a member of her own family.

Her goal is simple: to provide exceptional care with precision, compassion, and integrity—and to help every patient feel confident they are in the very best hands.

Philosophy of Care

Three principles
guide every visit.

Listen first, treat with intention

Every plan begins with a careful conversation about how your hand is affecting your life — your work, your sport, your family.

Conservative when possible, surgical when right

Surgery is recommended only when it offers a clear, durable benefit. Non-operative care is offered with the same rigor.

Refined, attentive follow-through

Care continues long after the procedure — with coordinated therapy, attentive communication, and consistent presence.
